Our Mission
At Westleigh Chiropractic, we want to introduce as many people as possible to the benefits of chiropractic care. We treat every patient as a unique individual and take the time to talk to them and understand their problems and goals. Everything in our practice is approached case-by-case—there is no cookie-cutter approach to care here.
Your body can heal itself when the nervous system works as it should. We help it do that by removing pressure from the spine—we’re just assisting the body so it can recover in the best way possible. Our goal is to help patients understand that the body has the power to heal itself and function at its ideal level when the nervous system is free from interference.
Our History
Dr Peter Cowie (Chiropractor) opened our practice in 1983. Now retired, he has passed his legacy onto Dr Allan Van (Chiropractor). Dr Van graduated with his Master of Chiropractic from Macquarie University in 2012.
He spent several years practicing as an associate around Sydney, and working with other providers, such as osteopaths, physiotherapists and Traditional Chinese medicine practitioners. Then he came to work with Dr Cowie, and eventually took over the practice. He is grateful for the opportunity to maintain and grow such a well-established practice.
Dr Van holds Advanced Proficient certification in Activator Methods® and also offers manual adjusting techniques, such as Gonstead and Diversified. We also provide dry needling, which is highly effective in releasing soft tissue trigger points to reduce pain and improve mobility.
The community here has been welcoming to Dr Van, and he is delighted to provide the best chiropractic care available to everyone in the area—existing and new patients alike.

We see a wide range of patients with various types of musculoskeletal complaints. We provide care for patients from young school age up through the nineties. Activator adjustments are gentle enough for people of any age or physical condition.
